Four Dragons Tamashii Ryuu is constantly striving to find better, more innovative ways to give students a quality martial arts education. Therefore, in order to provide your child with the best martial arts experience possible, we have developed exciting children's programs for ages 4 to 6 (TIGERS) and 7 to 12 (JUNIORS). Placement depends on student evaluation and readiness skills assessment.

These programs are designed to give kids an introduction to the martial arts and help them to begin to develop themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. The Tiger programs teaches the White Belt through Blue Belt curriculum over an age appropriate extended period of time in order to give them a good foundation in the physical skills required to enter the Junior Program successfully. The Junior Program builds on the students skills and continues to reinforce the Black Belt qualities of perseverance, commitment, dedication, self-discipline, respect, and indomitable spirit that we strive to instill in all of our students.

Improved Report Cards: Our curriculum is designed to teach children the importance of concentration. Improved concentration means that your child will learn more at school. Therefore, you can expect your child to receive better grades for both academics and attitude. In our school, children who receive A's and B's on their report card receive a patch for their uniform indicating that they are Academic Achievers.

Martial Arts Builds Healthy Kids: Martial Arts is a great work-out. Your child will breath better, eat better and sleep better. Children who take our classes are slimmer, make better decisions about food, and in general, learn to take care of themselves. You won't see any of our Black Belt Students smoking or using drugs, now or ever!

Positive Attitude: Kids in our program learn to have a positive attitude. You won't find yourself repeating yourself over and over, or arguing with your child like most parents do. Kids learn to be respectful of their parents and teachers. You might even catch your child saying: Yes Ma'am or Yes Sir!

Self Confidence: It's true, kids who take Tamashii Ryuu develop better self-confidence. They're encouraged to take chances, to push themselves further than they thought possible. The success they experience through martial arts teaches them that they can be successful at anything if they truly believe they can and are willing to work hard. Improved confidence leads to better grades, a better circle of friends, better performance in sports and extracurricular activities in general.

Self-Defense: Tamashii Ryuu teaches two forms of self-defense. One is physical, your child will improve his or her strength, flexibility and overall health. Additionally, your child will learn to strike with tremendous power and effectiveness. Hopefully your child will never be picked on or need to fight...but should the occasion arise, shouldn't everyone know how to protect themselves? The second form of self-defense we teach is internal. Children learn to spot danger and avoid dangerous people, places, and activities. Martial arts can help your child avoid the need for a physical confrontation. This second form of self-defense is perhaps the most valuable of the two.

The STAR Program

Four Dragons Martial Arts provides your child with not only a Martial Arts Education but a Personal Responsibility Education as well. The S.T.A.R. program program focuses on the systematic teaching of common values that include: honesty, respect, responsibility, integrity, courage, tolerance, justice, self-confidence, and politeness.

At each belt level, the student can earn colored stripes to be worn on their belt to signify completion of the requirements. Each stripe reinforces the Tenets and Precepts, the student Oath, and the standards of the Tamashii Ryuu system.

The SWAT Team

The SWAT program is a path for developing leadership and teaching skills while being a role model for your peers. Students are selected based on class performance, attitude, willingness to help around the school, and desire.

SWAT Team member duties include:

-welcoming new students

-assisting students with uniforms,  belts, and equipment

-lining up classes

-holding targets

-small group leadership

We hope that you find our children's programs an exciting and rewarding benefit to your childs journey to Black Belt Excellence! If you have any questions about our programs or your childs progress please feel free to talk to an instructor.
