Kwan Jang Nim Heidi has been teaching in the martial arts for over 30 years. She began her study at the age of 15 and over the past 42 years has attained ranking in several arts including tang soo do, tae kwon do, shotokan karate, arnis, & jiujitsu. She holds Black Belts in both Shotokan Karate and Yoshimishinki Ryugi Jiu Jitsu and currently holds the ranking of 5th Degree Black Belt under Tom Callos-her teacher of 24 years.

Tamashii Ryuu combines techniques and forms from Shotokan Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Arnis, and Ju Jitsu in one complete self-defense system. Our students have competed in international as well as local tournaments and have had opportunities to travel outside the U.S. to represent the United States.

Godan Ryuu (the 5th Dragon) Jiujitsu has roots in Danzan Ryu JiuJitsu, Judo, and Japanese Karate (Shotokan). Our comprehensive style, developed by Soke George Sherman-a student of Ray & Marie Laws- includes throws, joint locks, strikes, submission holds, groundwork, come-a longs, escapes, and kicking techniques.

Our main emphasis is on mastering practical methods of self-defense in response to unarmed and armed attacks, using both classical and improvised methods, however, improved self -awareness, coordination, and conditioning are equally important benefits obtained from the study of our style of martial art.

Martial arts training also places emphasis on individual awareness and consciousness and the underlying philosophy is to respect and preserve life. Through their training students develop physically, mentally, and spiritually as well as learn the art of self-defense and protection. Four Dragons trains the Body, Mind, Spirit, and Character.
